This feature will actually will displace other technology whose sole function is to help you create distribution lists. The big benefit here of doing it by way of Gmail is that if you already have an account your new distribution list is completely integrated with your Gmail account.
It’s an enormous timesaver, and I can imagine it actually facilitating creation of new lists for people who never would’ve considered them previously.
