alphaWorks is an integrated development environment (IDE) for Laszlo. The technology preview is an Eclipse-based development environment for creating Laszlo applications using the LZX declarative mark-up language. Laszlo looks promising and if IBM is giving it what is in effect a vote of confidence by creating an IDE for it then it’s probably worth a closer look.
If any Digital Media Minute readers have have any experience creating Laszlo applications yet I’d be very interested to hear your impressions in the comments below. I do make an effort to be aware of new tools and languages before they become popular and this sometimes means that we move outside the mainstream.
