Two Level Horizontal Navigation with CSS

by Tom

Veerle Pieters shows us how to create two level horizontal navigation in CSS with images. It’s a nice short tutorial with great results! The basic idea here is that the structural code contains no images. Then, every button has a different ID, then each of these IDs are styled. We end up with the text getting replaced by images that are all used as background.

I think there’s a lot of value in doing pointer posts to specific CSS tips that reveal methods of performing specific small tasks within the richness of possibilities contained by CSS, and I hope Digital Media Minute readers feel the same.
