GMail Increases Storage to 2GB!

by Tom

On the eve of their 1st birthday, GMail Increases Mailbox Storage to 2GB!. When you login, look at your limits – they are twice what they were earlier today!  Okay I may be revealing my status as an old-timer but when I think about what two GB meant 10 or 15 years ago,  this is awe-inspiring.

This is about a lot more than e-mail; people are already using Gmail as essentially a virtual drive because of its excellent search functionality and because, well, 1 GB of storage could hold a lot of documents and files that don’t necessarily need to be 100% private. With this move to double the storage they are giving you it’s clear that Google has no problem with behavior like this and probably would be in favor of it.

If you found this helpful or interesting, please share it!

On the login page, they have a counter displaying what the current account storage is at.

Also, there’s richtext editing for your e-mails.

If there’s one thing April Fool’s brings, it’s good things from Google.

Oh I get it now, I don’t have to log in everyday so I never saw the log-in page. Haha, that’s pretty funny.
