Information designer Mark Boulton has just begun a series of articles titled Five simple steps to better typography. Part one discusses the measure and part two introduces you to hanging punctuation.
I can’t say enough good about these articles as well as the overall site. Boulton writes about typography like a real authority and clearly is a person with a passion for the subject. These articles start with the very basics i.e. defining one point and one pica, and go from there. If you’re a web designer who feels like you might be a little bit deficient when it comes to typography you’ll get a huge boost from these articles.
