RenderSoft CamStudio is a tool used for recording screen activity into standard AVI video files. If you move the cursor, launch a new program, type some text, click a few buttons, or select some menus—anything that you see on your screen—CamStudio will be able to record all these and allow you to play them back later on.

You can use CamStudio to develop videos to demonstrate features of a new software, web applications, or for creating movies used in user training. If you have a microphone connected to youre PC, CamStudio allows you to capture audio as well. New in version 2 is the ablility to save your captured session to the .swf file format, meaning that your video can be streamed via HTTP using the Flash player. RenderSoft claims that their .swf compression is “lossless” – and from what I have seen the results are truly impressive. CamStudio also lets you add annotations to your video making it easy to highlight certain parts of the video.
