Information architect Thomas Vander Wal, has a good article titled Tagging for Fun and Finding that discusses the great benefits from tagging if it is done well. I know that we here at Digital Media Minute have done quite a few posts lately on tagging and folksonomies, but I think pointing to good articles on the subject is important.
Tagging has been one of the major memes of this past year or two and I try to encourage even non-technical friends to use it more often to reap the benefits of it using services like del.icio.us. At any rate if you’re not particularly up to speed on tagging go take a look at this excellent article by a real authority on the subject.
