Open Source Software for the Mac

by Tom

opensourcemac maintains a great list of open source software that could replace commercial versions of OSX software.  It’s no secret that a lot of Mac software is very expensive, sometimes even shockingly so, and this has led to the creation of many software packages that in some cases are every bit as functional as the OS X software they are meant to replace.

I’m not knocking Apple for charging as much as they do because certainly their development costs must be astronomical, but on the other hand we have the example of much smaller organizations or even individuals creating very good quality open source software for the Mac that costs nothing at all.
