Linux Newbie Guide

by Tom

If you’re interested in experimenting with Linux, check out the Linux Newbie Guide. There are a number of Linux distributions that are in my opinion excellent. Fedora Core 4 and Ubuntu are currently my two favorites. They function well as both servers and desktop operating systems. Part of the overall attraction of Linux is the way that it provides people who enjoy hacking or building things with a way to apply their talents to the operating system of their own computer.

This do-it-yourself mentality has a lot of benefits on a practical level once you get Linux installed, so if you have an initial curiosity about this operating system do give it a try with this excellent guide.
