Wow – freaking wow! Opera Browser is now Freeware!
In the footsteps of their 24-hour giveaway last month, Opera Software is dropping the banner ads from its Web browser and releasing their software as freeware.
For $29 you can buy premium support that includes:
- installation and upgrade help
- migrate from another browser
- configure and customize
- resolve support issues
I certainly hope the revenue they generate from premium support is enough to enable them to provide us all with such a great browser.
One thing is for sure: they are going to see rates of adoption go through the roof. If you’ve played around at all with Opera you know what an excellent piece of software it is and if you haven’t I suggest you take a day or two to try it out as you navigate the web.
