Pascal Opitz from Content with Style shows you how to useClean URLs for a better search engine ranking. Clean URLs (like the ones displayed on this site) are created by using URL Rewriting to hide querystring parameters. The resulting URL looks much like a folder structure as opposed to a machine readable querystring. Just in case you think that this is only about URL aesthetics, the word is that search engine optimization is greatly affected by how clean your websites’ URLs are i.e. how readable they are for people, not robots. Luckily some blogging CMSs such as WordPress make it very simple to automatically create links that are search engine friendly.
