Looks like Google is listening! Inside Google Desktop talks about some of the improvements in their Google Desktop tool. I use Desktop a lot and it’s good to hear that Google is actively supporting this superior tool. Most importantly, they have made major changes in the way plug-ins are developed:
if you’re a sidebar plug-in developer, good news: we’ve heard you. And we’ve added support for script plug-ins. We even provided you with an automatic plug-in installer. Just use your favorite scripting language (such as JavaScript or VBScript) and start implementing and deploying cool plug-ins faster than ever.
