Dan Benjamin has posted a very complete tutorial on Building Ruby, Rails, LightTPD, and MySQL on Tiger. Recognizing this great tutorial, Newby on Rails did Dan one better, and turned his tutorial into a simple shell script that lets you intall the combination of Ruby, Rails, LightTPD, and MySQL using a single command! Wow talk about functional collaboration from a distance, both the tutorial as well is the unbelievably simple installation are sheer excellence! By the way, this is the post that got Dan Benjamin into my RSS feed–just take a look at the Ruby tutorial and I think you’ll be convinced that he’s someone to watch as well.
