The IEBlog is reporting that a pre-release build of IE7 for Windows XP will publicly be available during the first calendar quarter of 2006. It will be nice to see some of the changes that have been reported, assuming they are actually incorporated into the new Internet Explorer.
A lot of web developers have very little patience with Microsoft for the security shortcomings and the lack of standards compliance that it builds into IE, but there can’t be any doubt that Redmond is aware of the inadequacies and at least financially capable of addressing them.
I admit that I’m a diehard Firefox fan but as I’ve said before since most people who come to this site are still visiting by way of Internet Explorer I’ll continue to post on new releases and improvements to it.
