Java? It’s So Nineties

Business week has some interesting analysis of Java and suggests that It’s So Nineties in terms of a tool for web development. They point to a number of competing technologies like LAMP, Rails and .NET as serious tools in the web arena.

    .NET can do what Java can do in 1 month in 1 week.
    Rails can do what .NET can do in 1 week in 1 day.

    …and ColdFusion can fix what rails did wrong after your site made enough money from the prototype to make it scalable :-)

    LAMP… Linux Apache mySQL and Perl… the Linux, Apache, and mySQL part is fine - but Perl is crazy old school nineties.

    You must be oldschool nineties yourself to think Perl while it’s PHP in LAMP ;-)
