The AMFPHP project have posted a number of excellent screencasts that will help you get started using Flash Remoting for PHP. AMFPHP is an open-source Flash Remoting gateway that’s fast, reliable and free! They claim that installation only takes four minutes, and the tutorials cover installation and testing, using the service browser, including JSON syntax, methodTable and code generation features, making custom code templates, as well as security concerns including understanding and preventing SQL injection.
There is even a link to a French video tutorial included. This is great if you have an interesting in remoting for PHP and I would suggest you save the link for a time when it might be helpful for you if you have no current use for it.
