Safari Web Inspector

by Tom

A new feature has been added to the latest nightly builds of Safari/WebKit. The Web Inspector is a tool that lets you browse the live DOM hierarchy in a compact HUD style window. You can find out more about this tool for web developers by reading Surfin’ Safari’s article titled – Introducing the Web Inspector.

There is a lot to be said for improved graphic user interfaces even if the end-users at which it is aimed are professional programmers. The Web Inspector makes a convincing argument that software that is this elegant looking can also have real utility and as far as I’m concerned that seals the deal for me.
