Gmail for your Domain

by Tom

Gmail for your domain is a new service that Google is requesting beta testers for.  The beta test will let you give Gmail, Google’s webmail service, to every user at your domain.  The service comes complete with a 2GB storage limit which is odd as my personal GMail account currently has a 2.6GB limit (and growing every day). We have seen Google get very good at supplying users with all sorts of functionality that they in turn make part of their infrastructure, whether it’s with something as personal as Gmail or a move like this which helps you with an aspect of your Web presence.

These moves are all geared to incrementally increase Google’s presence in our everyday lives, and since the functionality they are offering is so compelling it seems to be a win-win, for now.
