From the makers of PHP, Zend is now offering their Zend Framework as a PHP alternative to Ruby on Rails and Django (Python). I’ve yet to take a close look at this framework, but it looks promising. If you’re a PHP coder it also carries the advantage of being familiar. One wonders if some of the same reasons that Ruby on Rails and Django have become so popular might also work for the Zend framework in the PHP world. It seems reasonable enough, as frameworks per se are becoming vastly more popular quickly. In any case if you are a PHP coder you should be encouraged that Zend has geared up framework toward you.
