I don’t currently use Ma.gnolia for my public bookmarking, but the Ma.gnolia Roots tool is very cool. Roots is a bookmarklet that when clicked will show you what Ma.gnolia users think of the page you are visiting. The bookmarklet makes extensive use of the DOM to present the results in a useful manner. As DOM manipulation is used, you never actually leave the page you were visiting. I can imagine this being very handy for website owners who would like to see opinions of large groups of users of their website with a minimum of fuss. Even if you’re not a Ma.gnolia user, you might still find the Roots bookmarklet useful.
