Parallels can now Boot Windows from BootCamp Partition

by Tom

An important Parallels announcement made today reveals that Parallels can now boot Windows from a BootCamp partition! You can get into the beta testing by downloading the Parallels Desktop for Mac Beta Build 3036. Parallels Desktop is a virtualization product that enabls Intel-based Mac owners to install and use Microsoft Windows without the need to reboot the system. While a lot of Mac owners will turn their noses up at the idea of running Windows on their Macs, from a practical standpoint I have found that a few times a year I have a need for Windows software that does not have a version for OS X, and may never have one. In cases like that Parallels is worth its weight in gold. It is extremely easy to install and use, I’d imagine even for non-technical people.

Buggy to say the least.

I’d say alpha more than beta.

Those who install, beware.
