If you’re still keeping up with the browser wars, Percy Cabello has a nice list of Planned features for Firefox 3. For an unedited list, you might also want to take a look on the Mozilla Wiki. The features are broken up into mandatory requirements, highly desirable requirements, and “nice to have”. A few of the more interesting entries to me are:
- The possibly of a facility for handling files by way of Web services.
- Improve support for Firefox extensions;
- Features like taking fewer steps and installation,
- Increased ease of configuring add-ons,
- Making the Firefox restart button permanent.
- Possible support for parental controls for Windows Vista.
- Also, under the ”nice to have” heading is the possibility at least of allowing extensions installation without having to do a Firefox reboot.
We shall, as they say, see.
