Imran Nazar got tired of dual booting his Gentoo Linux with Windows XP, so he figured out a cleaver way to Run a Windows Partition in VMware using an existing Window installation on a native disk partition. As he relates the story, he was not able to find a comprehensive solution to doing this in one place so as is so often the case with expert developers who fortunately have excellent technical writing capabilities and are unselfishly willing to share, he puts together a resource that is all you’ll ever need to accomplish this task. All code snippets are included. Very nice work here Imran!
