Create your Master Feed with Yahoo! Pipes

The ever cleaver Gina Trapani from Lifehacker documents how to Create your master feed with Yahoo! Pipes. What is your master feed? Well is is an aggregation of your feeds from all your social networking sites like Flickr, del.icio.us, or any other site that provides you with an RSS feed of your activities. This is a fascinating idea that has definite utility for web publishers who are actively involved in social media, who would like to create an additional collective repository for all of the information that they disseminate via RSS, but have no interest in spending additional time over and above contribute to their blog or website in doing so.

I would fall into that category. I am a heavy user of del.icio.us for instance but I can’t really justify putting more time into reformatting my bookmarks for further distribution; now it appears that I don’t have to. Your “Master Feed” is a novel idea but with all of the effort that some people expend publishing to third-party sites, it might be an idea whose time has come.

  1. Hmm. This is perfect for all of those feeds to update you on comments to a blog post! You get 30 in a folder and it can get crazy. I also like the possibility of using it for various search/tag feeds too.
