Quiet but Exciting
Digital Media Minute has been a little quiet over the past week or two but for good reason. I have decided to make a major career move and finally open my own web development company. I’ll have a bit more to say about it over next few weeks as I am bogged down in all the fun tasks when starting a company (incorporation, business naming, accountants, lawyers, standard contracts, etc). Once the incorporation has gone through, I’ll get the corporate site up and will be officially open for business!
I do have a couple of first contracts lined up, but am in the process of sourcing out new work. If you or your organization are looking for a talented group of people to work on your next project, give me a shout at jim.rutherford@digitalmediaminute.com. I would be more than happy to discuss your ideas with you.

That’s great to hear, Jim!
I can’t wait to see the website and the projects you’re working on! Is it just you, or have you put together a team?
Exciting stuff. I am in a similar state, and I am also about to embark on that journey (starting my own business). So far, all I have accomplished is that I am twisting and turning in my bed and not getting enough sleep just thinking “Am I doing the right thing or not”. It’s been a dream of mine for a long time, so when I am awake I am pretty confident that the answer is yes.
hi jim,
been reading this site for like three years now.. always a pleasure! wish you lots of success!
weren’t you supposed to start a new job? i think i remember something like “in between jobs”? anyway
cheers from cologne!
Temporist: Ya - I did start a new job, but it just didn’t feel right - and I have had this urge for a while to start my own thing. I don’t think there has been a better time to jump in. There appears to be a lot of work out there.
Aidan: It’s just me at the moment, but I am talking to some former colleagues about partnering into something bigger. Mostly looking to work with people who share similar skills, but more importantly being able to work with people who can fill in each others’ gaps.
That’s great to hear Jim. Me and an artist friend have started partnering up on some projects lately as well and are looking for some projects to work on. If you have anything you need a hand with then we might be able to help out. Can’t wait to see the new site when you get it up and what kind of stuff you’re going to work on. Cheers.
Jim, it seems that you’re at an exciting start! I made the same decision and I strated my company this year: http://www.RespiroMedia.com
