Best Application Launcher for OSX

Alright - the title of this post might be a stretch, but Namely certainly is one of the best I have come across lately.  It works so well that I have already removed at least a dozen app icons from my dock!

The idea behind Namely is quite simple.  Hit a customizable hot key and start typing in the name of the application you want to launch.  Once Namely finds your application, press enter to launch it.  Namely works much like Spotlight, but is optimized for filtering and finding applications so Namely works very quickly.

What is your favorite launcher?

Hey Jim, have you checked out Quicksilver? It’s a similar app for Macs that I can’t live without!

Yeah, QuickSilver rocks! I even worked on a clone for Windows. Only looks less cool :)

I found this awhile ago. It’s really great and eats less memory than quicksilver. I wish the guy would update it so it doesn’t appear on the task switcher.

Earnest - I agree! Quicksilver is great but for launching applications, this is lightweight and fast. I also agree with the icon too!

I like quicksilver for being able to open any pref.panes from system preferences.

Quicksilver. Love it. Course it’s a bit more than an App launcher. I use it to publish twitter messages, upload files via transmit, and more. it’s great. Takes a bit of getting used to, but now I can’t live without it.
