If you have a self-hosted WordPress blog, you can now have the same Stats Plugin that is available at the WordPress.com hosted blogging service. Although it’s not quite as nice as Mint, it does contain the most important stats for tracking visitors to your site. They should help to satisfy a lot of people who are less than happy with the complexity of Google Analytics, or for whatever reason. This is a nice touch by Matt Mullenweg and the folks at Automattic; because it is free to use this plug-in there is no direct method of compensation that they are gaining from this move. That’s right-the price is free!
