Yahoo! likes Joe Hewitt’s Firebug extension for Firefox so much that the YUI Team Is Hiring an Engineer To Work on Firebug. This is great news and hopefully will help Joe make this tool totally kick ass! This is an example of what happens when you have created such a great product that it sinks into the programming culture so far that you’re on the radar of a major multinational corporation like Yahoo. There’s a lesson here for people who have ideas for tools and possess a competence for creating them: even a single person is capable of making something that many, many thousands of his colleagues around the world use every single day.
