One of the most popular posts on this blog is my instructions on how to upload to Flickr from Picassa, Google’s excellent image management application. Looks like my hack is no longer relevant (thank goodness) as a Flickr upload plugin for Picasa is now available! This is the usual course of things today isn’t it? A huge company releases a new product that doesn’t quite satisfy every last usage case that every user in the world would prefer that does (how could it anyway?), but someone comes along and provides a small hack that is later incorporated into the product.
Sometimes better ways of doing things are purchased by the big companies in question for lots of money, but I can assure you that this time, with my Flickr upload plugin for Picasa, that was not the case!
