Google has just announced the Google Maps API for Flash. This AS3 library will allow you to natively put Google Maps into your Flex or Flash apps without having to do any hacky-hack iFrame/div methods. You can read the announcement on Google’s blog. It should be obvious how huge this is for anyone develops with Flex and Flash, with as many opportunities for creating interesting, functional applications with the Google maps API as there are. Combine that with the amount of Flash and Flex developers out there who have already set a new standard for creativity in development with some of the incredible uses they’ve come up with for these tools and I’d look for some interesting hybrid uses very soon!
