Have you seen or used Balsamiq Mockups? Looks like a very cool and easy-to-use tool for creating mockups of GUIs, fast. I’m going to have fun playing with the demo this weekend. We’ve done quite a few posts pointing to tools that enable us to quickly create a rough representation of the plan that we have for an application or a series of related user interfaces, but this has to be is one of the most easy-to-use functionality toward that end that I have ever seen. It is not free, as some of the other tools are, but if you’re serious about creating a GUI mockup to take that rough idea that you have to the next level, play around even for five minutes with Balsamiq Mockups.

I’ve seen, used, and love Balsamiq Mockups. I am also a customer.
I use it whenever i need to quickly mock up an interface or explain a UI idea. I often design the UI before designing the application, so it serves me well there.

Thanks for the comment Alaa– productivity tools like this that save real time in getting the job done enable us to do much more and raise the quality of what we do too, I think. Especially for tasks that are improved by doing a greater number of iterations, like mocking up GUIs.
