Think you’ve got a great idea for an application and the coding chops to realize your vision? Some developers are missing one piece in the puzzle, namely a marketing strategy, or even place to start for marketing help. I’ll bet it keeps some people from pushing forward with an idea they might otherwise attempt. Check out the comments in this Slashdot thread– just a day old but it’s loaded with excellent tips/links. It’s a shame that the people who actually create wonderful products oftentimes in effect prevent themselves from marketing them just because they are more comfortable with development only, rather than actively trying to reap the rewards of their efforts commercially–if you think this might describe you, do not miss this thread.
