Google Mobile App Voice Search

by Tom

Did you know that If you have an iPhone, a Windows Mobile device, an Android phone, a BlackBerry, or a Nokia S60 you certainly don’t need to be doing manual searches any more. I wonder if everybody on earth knew this except me… Matt Cutts is speaking pretty clearly, but it’s still impressive. What I wonder is: how this will change the search engine optimization game? Do people perform searches differently when they speak versus when they have to type in queries? Google already has untold amounts of data to help them analyze these questions, but my bet is that the so-called “long tail” is one heck of a lot longer when people have the option to very quickly do six- or eight-word searches verbally rather than typing.
