Getting Flash Apps To IPhone

by Tom

At Adobe MAX, Adobe is showcasing Flash applications for iPhone/iPod Touch, created with the new Flash Professional CS5. This is not a policy change from Apple though; developers can use the Flash developer tool to convert Flash applications into apps that work on iPhone without having to build iPhone apps. You didn’t think that Adobe would take  Steve Jobs’ throwing down the gauntlet as to what software could play on “his” devices-i.e. noFlash-laying down, did you? Who knows where all this ends up, but it just stands to reason that they would make some provisions for letting their software work on hardware that is owned, after all, by the people who purchased the handheld devices.
