Call them programming challenges for grownups, or skill sharpeners or what ever you want, but Programming Praxis has great exercises for programmers to keep the brain in shape if the challenges at work are getting too easy for you! Seriously, I think there’s real value in testing oneself constantly with hard problems because the reality is that in your professional life a lot about the difficulties might not be related to programming problems as much as they are with the organization in which you find yourself creating. I always feel like if left to my own devices I can get something done and though I like my coworkers and I understand the need for compromise, overcoming conflicts like that are not of the pure, abstract sort offered to us within programming challenges like this. Nice site.
