Inkscape is an open source scalable vector graphics (SVG) editor for both Windows and Linux. Inkscape has capabilities similar to, but not as complete as those found in Illustrator, CorelDraw, Visio, etc. Sometimes additional functionality isn’t necessarily a benefit. If you’re looking for a simple open source solution to help you with graphic design or simple graphics-oriented tasks without having to shell out hundreds of dollars for these larger software packages (and take the time to learn them if you’re not already familiar with them), consider this little graphics tech tool.
Supported SVG features include basic shapes, paths, text, alpha blending, transforms, gradients, node editing, svg-to-png export, grouping, and more.
