Recently it became possible to drag images right into your Gmail message if you were using Chrome, but I just found out today that I could drag an image into an e-mail using Firefox as well. Maybe the rest of the world knows this, but if you haven’t tried it yet it’s a nice little timesaver/incremental improvement. I am astounded at the apparent reticence of Hotmail to include what is rapidly becoming basic technology like this into their e-mail product.
When was the last time you observed that any kind of user-interface-related improvement within Hotmail? As quickly as the tech landscape is changing nowadays, this sort of unresponsiveness evidenced by Microsoft is a recipe for diminishing market share, which could have hugely negative ramifications even for a tool they provide for free.
