Programming For IPad: Early Lessons Learned

by Tom Mullaly on June 11, 2010

Enter the iPad programming tips: Thomas Fuchs created this gorgeous and simple iPad app for looking up time zones, called everytimezone. It worked well on the SDK iPad Simulator, but when he finally got his iPad he found the application to be very sluggish, so he optimized it.

Here he shares some lessons learned from the experience (there are a few surprises). I would think this article would have value for everyone who’s ever created an iPhone app because-let’s face it-sooner or later you’re going to want to offer it as an iPad. You knew that  converting an app wouldn’t be without some hiccups, but the good news is that at least in this case with Fuchs’ app, there were no showstoppers.
