Securing MySQL

by Tom Mullaly on August 11, 2010

Code Sherpas have a good article on how to secure MySQL; the author is careful to point out that this is not meant to be an authoritative guide on security relative to a mysql servers, but I think it is a very good quick reminder-type reference to have on hand the next time you do a MySQL install: the scope of the effort that the  author is outlining here might take ten minutes or so. Topics covered in this short article are application-specific users  as well as touching upon passwords and limiting privileges. It’s a nicely done short guide, go take a look if you do any work with MySQL.
