Firefox Extension Scribe

by Tom Mullaly on November 26, 2004

Scribe is a Firefox extension that allows you to save form data to your local disk. This is very useful, when you are entering data into a relatively large form, and want to periodically save the data without submitting the form. Scribe allows you to:

  • Save form entries to a local Scribe XHTML file.
  • Load form entries from a Scribe XHTML file.
  • Overrides Ctrl-S so you can quickly save as you type.
  • The Scribe html file is a normal XHTML document – You can edit long posts in your favorite HTML or text editor then use Scribe to load it back into the web form.
