Although Apple has patched Safari for the recent security vulnerability in OSX, all other browsers for Mac still have problems. Daring Fireball has a nice article that will show you how to Disable Unsafe URI Handlers with a free preference pane called RCDefaultApp.

This appears to be a very good method to secure your OSX system until the other browser vendors fix this major hole in the OS.
