John Haller has made a custom version of Firefox, that allows you to run this new browser from a USB drive. Version 0.9 of Firefox now supports running from removable drives with minimal reconfiguration.
If your IT department at work does not support or allow you to install Firefox, this is a great solution. Simply plugin your USB drive and start up Firefox. Wow, I love these portable solutions that empower me to work with the software, operating system or browser with which I prefer to work, anywhere. I predict we see a lot more USB drive-driven solutions as they become more ubiquitous pieces of technology and as storage capacity continues to grow by leaps and bounds even on tiny bits of storage media.
