Do you have a broadband connection and have a tough time trying to see how slow your sites load on slower internet connections? These two tools – Web Speed Optimizer and Sloppy will simulate conection speeds as low as 9.2kbps!

Web Speed Optimizer is a Windows only utility that simulates bandwidth speeds from 9.2kbps through to LAN connections. The utility will give you a statistics log showing you where the bottlenecks are. There is a demo version available at their site, but the full version costs $99US.

Sloppy is a neat Java program that also simulates bandwidth speeds. This tool is free and runs on Windows, MacOSX and Linux. There is not alot of information about this product at their site – but it works very well.
