Strategies for Long-Term CSS Hack Management

by Tom

Molly Holzschlag has written a nice article for Informit athat discusses Strategies for Long-Term CSS Hack Management. If you have ever created a website that relies on CSS for layout, you probably have used some sort of hack. It’s always interesting to see how other’s handle the hacks to make future maintenance and upgrades easier. As you are building a new website, planning ahead for major changes to it down the line probably are not very high on your list of priorities.

But how likely do you think that in five years the site will remain unchanged and that your hacks  will be completely comprehensible to whoever is tasked with the responsibility of making the changes, even if that person is you! Molly raises very pertinent issues in this article and gives us all something to think about.
