Pagerank Status is an extension for Firefox that will display a Google Pagerank indicator in your status bar. This is the same type of display that is shown on the Googlebar in IE which is one of the only reasons I open IE nowdays. Looks like I’ll be using even less IE now!
Checking the pagerank of a website that you have arrived at can give you an indication of the authority of which Google has determined the site is worthy. This can be very useful if you are, for instance, looking for medical information or other information whose accuracy is critical to you. Pagerank is basically determined by the authority (as determined by Google, again) of the websites that are linking to a given site, as well as other factors.
