Mike Papageorge has written a nice article at his weblog that discusses Caching on the Server and Client Side. The article discusses the benefits of being able to control the caching of pages and is full of some great links to other resources.
As Mike says, server-side and client-side caching shouldn’t put you off as being too difficult to understand because they aren’t, and if you’re willing to undertake a little research and testing you’re going to find yourself with a new service/tool you can offer clients in the future that will most certainly speed up their pages, which could even have benefits in search engines nowadays.
