Safari Bookmarks Extractor is a simple application that extract your bookmarks form Safari. It read the Safari XML-PList file and create a HTML links file with your bookmarks.

This tool can be used to migrate your bookmarks from Safari into the new (and in my opinion better) browser called Firefox

Some wise words from Google on the effectiveness of Search Engine Optimizers (SEO’s). The infomation they provide offer a few tips that may help you distinguish between an SEO that will improve your site and one that will only improve your chances of being dropped from search engine results altogether.

Some of the simple tips include:

  • You should never have to link to an SEO
  • Be sure to understand where the money goes
  • No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google
  • Make sure you’re protected legally

Creative Commons 2.0 Announced

Creative Commons has just announced it’s new 2.0 licenses. Some new features of the license can include:

  • Attribution is now standard
  • Link-back attribution
  • Music-specific rights clarified
  • And some new buttons!

Ticked Off? Visited Links How-To

CollyLogic, a new web design blog by Simon Collison, has a really cool way of dealing with visited links. His tutorial titled – Ticked Off? Visited Links How-To – shows off his technique of placing check-marks next to links that you have visited on his site.

The technique uses CSS and image positioning to create this really cool “link” UI.

Another Fix for the OSX Security Vulnerability

Although Apple has patched Safari for the recent security vulnerability in OSX, all other browsers for Mac still have problems. Daring Fireball has a nice article that will show you how to Disable Unsafe URI Handlers with a free preference pane called RCDefaultApp.

This appears to be a very good method to secure your OSX system until the other browser vendors fix this major hole in the OS.
