Christian Cantrell sent me a link to his latest piece of work that was co-developed by Mike Chambers. The Flash / JavaScript Integration Kit is a freely downloadable package that lets you seamlessly communicate between Flash and JavaScript. You can call JavaScript functions from Flash, and visa-versa. From their product page they state that:
While there have been ways to communicate between JavaScript and Flash in the past, they have not worked reliably across browsers and/or platforms. Furthermore, these techniques only allow you to pass strings between JavaScript and Flash, and not complex data types such as objects and arrays.
AgencyNet Interactive has an incredible promotional site built using Flash that incorporates some very cool video elements and great transitions.
PHPObject from GhostWire Studios is a set of Flash Components and an opensource alternative to Flash Remoting for PHP developers. With PHPObject, you can call a method of a PHP class/library on your web server as if the class/library was defined in Flash itself.
X Factor Studio has a nice XPath implementatin for Flash. Available for both ActionScript 1 and 2, XPath4AS2 is very close to being a complete XPath implementation.
