With the introduction of iPhone in January 2007 Apple made a giant leap into the telephone market. There was skepticism over the price point of the slick new smart phone along with plenty of questions as to how well mobile carriers would be able to integrate their services with the Apple ecosystem. Within months however, it became clear that Apple had a real winner in their new handset, and not just from people who are usually sold on Apple products. IPhone was incredibly easy to use and when Steve Jobs announced that third-party applications for iPhone would be allowed, developers couldn’t create new functionality and iPhone apps fast enough. Android is neck and neck with iPhone in terms of the quality of the devices that are running the operating system, but for many people be integrated nature of the iPhone’s hardware and iOS software make this endlessly customizable device a must-have.
